Lovin them penguins!

Today is the last day of our blog hop challenges and sneak peeks and I hope you all have had fun! If you arrived here from Jackie's Blog then you are on the right track. If not, you may want to head on over to the TSG Blog to get all the details about the Blog Hop Challenges!! I love this new set because not only is it great for holiday cards but you will love using it for your everyday winter cards as well! With a total of 55 stamps (55 stamps?! Who does that??) in this 6x8 set you are going to enjoy this set for many years to come :)

I wanted to make a simple one layer card to show off these cute penguins. I started by stamping my scene (I used 6 different stamps!) on white cardstock and colored with colored pencils. I then added some sparkle to the ice with a Stardust Gelly Roll pen. I stamped the larger fish from this set in Versamark and then adhered my cut out scene. Tied some ribbon and sparkle thread and that's it :)

Your next stop on the hop is the fab Jessie and I'm sure she's got something great to show you! Hope you have enjoyed all of the blog hops this week! Don't forget that you have until Saturday evening to complete all of the Blog Hop Challenges for your chance at some new TSG Goodies!

Join us Saturday for our Release Party Chat at 6:00 PM on the TSG Forum. One lucky participant in the chat will win the entire new release!

New TSG Mini Sets!!

Welcome to day three of the Blog Hop Challenges! If you came here from Jackie's blog then you are on the right track. If not you may want to stop by the TSG Blog to see what all of the fun is about and how you can win free stamps simply by hopping :)

I know how much you all love your mini sets so this month TSG is releasing two more!

The first one I have to show you is called Stick Together. This beautiful min set has a total of 11 stamps including two heartwarming friendship sentiments, a bunch of beautiful snowflakes and even some dotted swirl flourishes for only $7!!

I wanted to do a nice clean and simple card that was both quick and easy to make as well as beautiful. I stamped the snowflakes in different colors to create custom stamped DP. I then stamped the sentiment and added a black border with a Copic Multiliner. As a final touch I added lots of fine glitter using a glue pen.
For my second card I used the new mini set HSH Hanukkah Additions. This beautiful mini set includes 9 stamps and will sell for only $7. There are images that are perfectly sized to use with the Home Sweet Home set and also some larger images that are great to use independently on cards. I stamped the images on white watercolor paper and watercolored with SU inks.

Now hop on over to Jessie's blog to see what she has in store for you!

If not, you may want to go back to the TSG Blog to get all the details about the Blog Hop Challenges and find out how you can win the new set that we are previewing today!!

Release Week begins!

I am so excited that the time has finally come to start sharing with you guys the new sets that I have been working so hard on!! I made this card for this week's TSG Challenge which is to create a holiday card in 10 min. or less that can be easily mass produced. I used a new mini set that you will get to see more of later in the week ;)

This card is super easy to create! The image panel is 3x3.25 inches big and I used two circle punches for the sides. The images were stamped in Momento Tuxedo Black and then colored with colored pencils. I stamped the background tone on tone and then added the front panels with dimensionals.
Inside of card:

Sending my love.... again!

Like always this week has just flown by! I can't believe that I have had a card to show you every day this week so far lol! Today's card is a card I whipped up for a Shoebox Swap that I am going to this weekend. I know, I procrastinate. What can I say, it's my thing ;)

I used my much loved Special Delivery set (for the second time this week!) because the images are versatile and it's impossible to make a bad card with it. The mailbox was stamped on a separate piece of paper, colored with Prismacolor pencils, cut out and added to the main panel with dimensionals. I then stamped the hearts on a piece of scrap paper, colored, added Stardust Gelly Roll pen, cut out and adhered to my mailbox. Easy peasy... (picked up that phrase from Jodi *kharmagirl* hee hee)
Inside of card-

Card Recipe:
Paper- Blue textured by Bazzil, black, white
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black
Accessories- Stardust gelly roll pen, dimensionals

Custom stamped DP

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today's card was inspired by Maki's Wednesday Trends over at the TSG Blog. This lady is the queen when it comes to creating custom designer paper!! If you haven't had a chance to check out her post yet, you can here.

Because of the smaller silhouette flowers, Act Of Kindness is the perfect set to create your own designer paper with! I used Perfect Plum and Pale Plum for my background, then sewed the entire panel before adding shimmer from a Stardust Gelly Roll Pen and rhinestones to the larger Perfect Plum Flowers.
Card Recipe:
Stamps- Act Of Kindness
Paper- Black, White, Pale Plum
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum
Accessories- Stardust Gelly Roll Pen, Nestabilities, Rhinestones, Sewing Machine.

I'm back!

After a short leave of absence, I think I am finally able to jump back on the stampin' train! It has been a nice break to just have some time to myself and I feel refreshed :)

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this week's new challenge (TSG25- Dry Embossing) brought to us by our talented Trendsetter of the week Maki! Check out the TSG Blog for all of the details about this challenge and how you can win a TSG gift certificate.

For this card I embossed the Rose Red layer with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder and then used another embossing folder for the Always Artichoke panel that goes across the card. The stamp set used is Special Delivery (my much used "go to" set!!) and colored with Prismacolor Pencils blended with OMS.

This weekend was full of remodeling on our verrry old house but we got to enjoy some fun as well. The most exciting thing that happened this weekend was that our oldest daughter Kylie finally lost her first tooth! This darn tooth has been trying to come out for at least 6 months. It would get loose and then not loose and back in forth until finally Kylie was eating a plum a couple of weeks ago and accidently bit the pit just hard enough to really make it loose. It was still hanging in their pretty good but then on Sat. she was eating a Mamba (like Starbursts) and she bit down on it with her front teeth not thinking. It started bleeding and within 5 minutes she had the tooth out! She was so excited that she ran to both of our neighbors to show them. This was the picture I took of her right before she started her rounds ;) I can't believe how old she looks in this picture!
Then yesterday we went out for a family walk to collect some "signs of Autumn" for Kylie to take to school on Monday. I took this picture of my wonderful family as we headed down toward the river.
We have a bunch of these bush tree things lining part of our walk and the leaves on this thing are huge and beautiful! The girls even stopped to let me take a picture :)
Have a great week everyone!

Treemendous

Hello everyone! Sorry for the irregular posting lately but I have been taking some much needed time for myself. I will be back to stampin and posting regularly again soon :)

A few nights ago I really wanted to stamp but didn't know where I wanted to start. So I do what I usually do when this happens and cruised the SCS galleries where inspiration is always found. In my wanderings, I came across this card created by Dawn (TreasureOiler). I immediately knew that I wanted to case this card using the mini set Treemendous. I changed a few things like the layout, omitting the ribbon and sentiment placement. Thanks Dawn for the inspiration!!

Inside of card-

Recipe:
Stamps- Treemendous
Paper- Always Artichoke, Kraft, Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, DP by My Minds Eye and SU
Ink- Always Artichoke, Mellow Moss, Cameo Coral, Dusty Durango, Chocolate Chip
Accessories- Rhinestones, SU Die cuts, Dimensionals

TSG24- Jodi's Sketch

It's Monday again and after a weekend full of birthday parties, I'm actually happy that it's here lol! I finally have a chance to get my house cleaned and caught up on other household chores that usually get neglected during the weekend :)

I made this card for this week's TSG Challenge which is a sketch brought to us by our Trendsetter of the week- Jodi! I love this sketch because the larger main panel is perfect to use the new Home Sweet Home stamp set. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE this set?? There are so many different images included in this set that you can make SOOO many different fireplace scenes!

I kept my fireplace a little on the simple side for this card because I wanted to try my hand at watercoloring again and didn't want to complicate things any more than I had to ;) Since I don't have the best luck with the aqua brush that I have, I picked up a great set of paintbrushes (I think there are 10?) at my local Dollar Tree. I was a little worried when I bought them that they were going to be the 'cheap' kind of brushes (I mean hey, they were only $1 lol!) with the stiff bristly brushes but they turned out to be a great quality and I'm happy with my 'investment' ;)

I first tried watercolor crayons but they just weren't working for me and for some reason, cause my ink to run. So I went back to my trusty ink pad lid method and the results turned out great. I also used watercolor paper (that I picked up on sale at Michael a long time ago). The paper makes a big difference when using this technique!
Another great thing about Home Sweet Home is that one of the great sentiments is designed to perfectly over lap so you can use it to make coordinating designer paper! If you own this set, you should give it a try, it adds a great detail to your projects and even helps to tie it all together :)

Recipe:
Paper-Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Watercolor paper, Very Vanilla
Ink- Momento Tuxedo Black, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Riding Hood Red, Sahara Sand, River Rock, Basic Grey, Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango
Accessories- Ribbon, Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Paint brushes for watercoloring, Rhinestones

For you my friend

We had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating Chloe's birthday with friends and family :) We decided to do something a little different this year and have a Halloween themed party. It was so much fun to see her little friends dressed up in costumes as they had fun playing together and ate entirely too much candy ;)

After we were finally able to get are sugar crazed girls in bed, I felt like stamping so I hurried to my craft room before the feeling passed ;) I created this card using the following mini sets- Polka Dot Hello, Polka Dot Blooms and Everyday Greetings. I have so much fun playing with TSG mini sets and I find myself reaching for them quite often when I'm stamping! Not only are they a great deal at only $5 and $7 a set, but they come loaded with stamps in many styles!!
Inside of card:

Recipe:
Paper- Black, White, Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink
Ink- Black, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Razzleberry, Summer Sun
Accessories- Scallop Corner Punch

Butterfly Inspiration

Happy Saturday everyone! I have a very busy day ahead of me but I wanted to stop in and show you this card I made last night. I finally had a few moments to stamp so I played along in today's SCS Inspiration challenge. I chose the first image of those shown on the post as my inspiration piece because I love the colors and it has been awhile since I've inked up Spread Your Wings set.
The background was created using different images from the mini set Flourish. Butterfly was colored with Prismacolor pencils and blended with OMS. I sewed along the edges of the main panel with my sewing machine and added some rhinestone butterflies to the ribbon and another rhinestone to the sentiment panel.

Make sure you stop by the TSG Blog today to see Julie's beautiful Stampbook Saturday post!!

Friday Night Chat & Monochromatic Mania

Happy Friday everyone!! Tonight is our Friday Night Chat and I hope that you will be able to join us HERE at our new time 7 PM Pacific Time (9 PM Eastern). I finally have a card to share with you guys today! I made this in the beginning of the week for this week's TSG Challenge- Monochromatic Mania. I used the set Bloom and colored the flowers with my blender pen and ink from an ink pad. You can't tell from this picture but I added shimmer to the flowers with my Stardust gelly roll pen (LOVE that thing!!) I kept the card nice and simple but added the image panel to the card base with dimensionals to give a little depth.
You have until Sunday night to play along in this challenge to be eligible for the TSG Gift Certificate that is up for grabs!!
